​1	​Food allowance is applicable only for instances where the employee has been deputed by management on official duty and the work involves overnight stay
​2	​In cases where an employee is on deputation between 10 to 20 days in a month then the allowance would be paid at 80 % of the daily allowance or the allowance paid for the first 10 days whichever is higher
​3	​In cases where an employee is on deputation for more than 20 days in a month then the allowance would be paid at 75 % of the daily allowance or the allowance paid for the first 20 days whichever is higher
​4	​Items 2 & 3 are applicable when an employee in deputed to one particular location. If the employee is constantly travelling between mutipel locations then 2 & 3 does not apply and he / she can claim allowances at 100% of the approved rate . Details of various locations of stay needs to be mentioned in the claim sheet

Food allowance can be claimed even for weekends and holidays if the holidays lie between the deputation period
