Stoppage of work
- The Management at any time/times in the event of fire, catastrophe, stoppage of power supply, epidemics, civil commotion or other causes beyond control, stop any of its workplace, section/department or sections/departments of sections of the Establishment, wholly or partially for any period or periods without notice.
- In the event of such stoppage during working hours, the employees affected shall be notified as soon as practicable by notice circulated through email or put up on the notice board in the departments/work spots concerned as to when work will be resumed and whether they are to remain or leave their place of work. If the period of detention does not exceed one hour, the employees so detained shall not be paid for the period of detention. If the period of detention exceeds one hour, the employees so detained shall be entitled to receive salary for the period they are detained as a result of the stoppage. No other compensation will be admissible in the case of such stoppage. Wherever practicable, reasonable notice of resumption of normal work shall be given.
- The employer may in the event of strike affecting either wholly or partially any section or department of the Establishment, closedown either wholly or partially such section or department affected by such closing down. The fact of such closure shall be notified as soon as practicably by notice put on the Establishment’s notice board and in the department concerned or through email. The employees concerned shall also be notified by a notice on the Establishment’s notice board as to when work will be resumed.
- All matters concerned with layoff will be dealt with in accordance with the provisions of Law.
- Absence due to bandhs and force majeure reasons:
- In the event of stoppage of work due to bandhs / curfews or any other force major reasons which are beyond the control of the management. Absence to work will be deducted from the leave account of the employee. The company is not liable to pay salaries for such absence.
- If the bandh is for one day then one working day would be compensated by employees working together on a second saturday. If such bandhs goes on for more than one day then the same could be compensated by employees working together on consecutive Sundays or as per Management's decision. Working on second saturday or Sundays will not be applicable for the employees working at Customers Project Sites or Clients office unless instructed to do so by the client or management.
